Madison Heim is a fibers artist who grew up somewhere between Texas and Missouri. Moving several times during her childhood taught her the importance of diversity as a young adult. She has a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Fibers at Savannah College of Art and Design. In 2014 she studied abroad in the small village of Lacoste France. From there she moved to Lima, Peru where she lived for six months working for a non-profit organization called Krochet Kids International. While there, she enjoyed being engulfed in the rich Peruvian culture and helped women overcome poverty through sewing and knitting. In the summer of 2015 she continued her travels to Boone, North Carolina to intern for a start up company that developed portable respirators. That company showed her the love of product design and took her to China where she was able to see her designs become manufactured. Now, she has settled within the foothills of Golden, Colorado where she designs baby accessories for Target and Wal-Mart Stores. Her life has taken her on many adventures, through her travels she discovered her passion of exploring and dissecting our diverse world to redefine it in her artwork. She enjoys working collaboratively, learning new techniques and pushing herself actively as well as creatively.
